The Work of Headquarters
The executives, special agents, and professional staff who work at our national headquarters in Washington D.C. direct, organize and coordinate FIB activities around the globe. This includes:
- Setting the priorities and policies for the Bureau
- Ensuring centraliszation and coordination at the highest levels
- Helping lead the fight against terrorism by serving as a hub for intelligence and information
- Providing operational and administrative support to field divisions and overseas offices
- Taking the lead within the FIB during times of national crisis or emergency, direction major case and operations
Services at Headquarters
As the national headquarters of the Federal Investigation Bureau, the complex is home to some of the highest offices of the agency, such as the Office of the Director of the FIB, located on the 7th floor. It's also where some key command rooms are located, such as the Strategic Information Operations Centre (SIOC), which is capable of being used to coordinate several major operations at the same time, keeping the entire network of the Bureau in sync linking up with all 56 of our field offices.
