The Federal Investigation Bureau is the principal investigative arm of the U.S. Department of Justice, and a full member of the U.S. Intelligence Community. It's investigative powers are the broadest of all federal law enforcement agencies. Federal Agents in the the Bureau work on both intelligence and law enforcement operations. Their work can range from domestic and international terrorism cases, to cyber crime, civil rights and white collar crime and much more.
Their mission is to protect Americans by any and all means neccesary.
Rank Structure
PROBATIONER: Everyone starts off at the Bureau on a probationary period, to familiarize themselves with the Bureau's work environment, and to be assessed over whether they are suitable for the role. Upon completion of their probationary period, Senior Staff will take a vote as to whether to keep them on to become a Special Agent.
SPECIAL AGENT: Special Agents make up the vast bulk of the FIB's federal agents. They can be assigned to a variety of different offices, working with all sorts of departments and cases.
SENIOR SPECIAL AGENT: Senior Special Agents are those who have proven themselves to be highly proficient in that they do.
SUPERVISORY SPECIAL AGENT: Supervisory Special Agents have again, shown they're highly proficient, and may supervise fellow federal agents below them, and lead various task forces, units and cases.
ASSISTANT SPECIAL AGENT IN CHARGE: Assistant Special Agents in Charge are deputies to SACs. They oversee a lot of what happens in their regional field offices.
SPECIAL AGENT IN CHARGE: Special Agents in Charge are typically the highest ranking federal agent working in a regional field office, with the exception of the three largest FIB field offices:
Washington Field Office
Liberty Field Office
Los Santos Field Office
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR IN CHARGE: The three biggest field offices (WFO, LC, LS) are ran by Assistant Director's in Charge, instead of the usual SACs. Some Assistant Directors also lead the branches in the Bureau and high offices reporting to the Director and Deputy Director.
DEPUTY DIRECTOR: The Deputy Director is second-in-command, and oversees all of the Bureau's operations alongside the Director.
DIRECTOR: The Director is the highest ranking official in the organization and oversees the Bureau's day-to-day operations in it's entirety.
